Freek Verheugt on the study

“In South Korea, 2701 patients on clopidogrel and aspirin after drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation were randomized 12 months later to either continue with double antiplatelet therapy or stop receiving clopidogrel and continue with aspirin alone. At 19 months after randomization, there was no benefit to continuing double therapy compared with aspirin. Dual antiplatelet therapy beyond 12 months after DES implantation is not shown to be beneficial.”
